Arnold-Antal Hegedűs (b. February 21, 1993, Sighetu Marmației, Romania) is a passionate artist whose journey in the world of art began in his childhood, inspired by his father, renowned painter István-Ștefan Hegedűs. Arnold experimented with graphic art in his teenage years before transitioning to oil on canvas, embracing abstract painting in 2011 during his senior year. After graduating from Leőwey Klára Hungarian High School in 2012, he continued to refine his artistic style while studying veterinary medicine at The University of Veterinary Medicine in

Cluj-Napoca.

Arnold's early work showcased a blend of abstraction and realism, heavily influenced by his love for nature and animals. He later developed a distinctive artistic innovation, "oil on skulls," utilizing animal skulls found during his hikes in the Maramureș Mountains. This unique medium reflects his meditations on the ephemeral nature of life and the permanence of art, bringing a sense of life back to the deceased.

He has exhibited in group shows at venues such as Sala Radio Sighet, the Sinestezia Art Event, Centrul Cultural Sf. Iosif Mărturisitorul, Károlyi Castle in Carei, Ádám Vay Museum, and Tailor’s Tower in Cluj. He has also hosted personal exhibitions at the Municipal Library of Sighet and in Breb. Arnold’s talent has earned him recognition, winning first and second prizes at the Gheorghe Chivu Plastic Art competition in 2019 and 2020.

Currently residing near London, where he works as a veterinarian, Arnold frequently returns to his hometown in Romania. His work, which resonates with themes of nature, mortality, and the enduring power of art, is found in private collections across Romania, Hungary, Austria, and the UK. Arnold continues to blend his love for animals, art, and nature, creating thought-provoking pieces that invite reflection on the fragility of life.
